(H.anuus) Wooohooo! Giant Sungold is everything you’ve been dreaming of if, you dream of sunflowers. 5-7’ tall and multi-branching with fully double, dense 7-10” heads. Absolutely wonderful and almost identical to dwarf, single-headed "Teddy Bear" only taller and with many flower heads. A terrific cut sunflower that is incredibly long-lasting. In N.WA we’ve found these to bloom a few weeks later than other sunflowers but never too late to enjoy them to their fullest. One of the most delightful sunflowers we know of.

SOWING:

Sow outdoors after your last frost.

Note: Sunflowers are best sown outdoors in full sun. They prefer infrequent but deep watering.

SPACING:

12-18" in rows 24-36" apart.

EMERGENCE:

7-14 days @ soil temp 70-75F.

FERTILITY:

Average to heavy. Prefer loamy and well-drained, soil and balanced fertility.
Beware of providing excess Nitrogen as this may cause odd flower shapes.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Tolerant of many soil types.

Attract birds, butterflies, children (who are the best of us), pollinators and small critters of all types.

Sunflowers are heliotropic when young (look it up!), much like many of us in the PNW.

Blooms can be cut from bud to open flower with varying vase life. We like to place them in warm to hot water in a cool shady spot.
